WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

... at Raisin d’ Etre is our wholehearted appreciation for Grower Producers. There are many types of Grower Producer but we have chosen to single out ‘Recoltant Manipulants’ - a grower who makes and markets their own Champagne. These producers cultivate their own vines, harvest their own grapes and craft exclusive Champagne on their estate. All of our producers have a personal and compelling history in champagne and are selected by Raisin d’ Etre because they have something special to offer.

We have completely fallen in love with Grower Champagne for its strong connection to the grape grower’s story, the qualities attributed to only using grapes from their own terroir and the extraordinary value for money.

THE SPECIFICITY OF GROWER CHAMPAGNE

Each vineyard and parcel of land within has a specificity thanks to the soil, aspect, microclimate and other natural features. These qualities inevitably help to produce diverse Champagnes year upon year that boast very individual characteristics, offering a distinctive authenticity that big champagne house blends do not.

AN EVER CHANGING SPECTRUM OF STYLES AND BLENDS

METHODE CHAMPENOISE

The Champagne Method, also known as the Traditional Method is an official and technical term denoting the specific process of making sparkling wine.  This method transforms still wine in to sparkling wine in the bottle itself. Grower Producers all follow this method, however their differentiating factor is that they produce smaller quantities and can therefore personally handle each bottle.

BRILLIANCE PASSED DOWN FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION

Grower Producers are normally small family-run businesses whose winemaking techniques and touches have been passed down as increasingly guarded secrets from generation to generation. They take enormous pride in their craft and imbue every bottle with their endless know-how, a pinch of soul and their own personal flair.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

CRAFTISAN

We work exclusively with Grower Champagne, personally selecting top quality styles that have a unique expression of a producer’s terroir. We appreciate the labour of love invested in local production and we support producers who make bold stylistic choices as well as embrace vintage variation.

STYLES FOR NEW OCCASIONS

Grower Champagne is not only more diverse and interesting to drink but it is also offers increased value for money.  We are revolutionising champagne culture by making quality Champagne accessible and affordable for new drinking occasions, without compromising the quality of the experience.

 A HUMAN APPROACH

We want to share our deserved interest in Grower Champagne, so every new customer relationship starts with a consultation to define what style or blend might suit you. You’ll always speak directly to the experts and you can expect a non-pretentious and jargon free experience.
